Cyberpunk 2077: problems with refunds, no extraordinary policies

The storm linked to cyberpunk 2077 it seems to never end. Rather. A news of a few hours ago, promptly reported by the well-known insider Nibel on their profile Twitter, reports that CD Project Red had an internal conference call, in which admitted that he didn't spend enough time on the old gen versions of the game. In particular, after the apology arrived yesterday morning, with which the software house invited dissatisfied users to request a refund directly from them, CD Projekt Red also stated that Microsoft products e Sony they expected most problems to be resolved before launch, as in the end it did not happen. However Sony has been declining refunds in the last few hours, precisely because no extraordinary policies were implemented on the matter.

Here is the heart of the long conference call:

First, about your question about the focus and the cause of our ignoring, as it were, the
shortcomings of the current-gen version. It's more of us looking - as has been stated earlier - at next-generation PC and performance rather than the current generation. We certainly haven't spent enough time focusing on the latter. I wouldn't say we felt any external or internal pressure for the launch on the date - other than the normal pressure, typical of any release. So that wasn't the cause. I can only assume they trusted that we would fix things upon release, and this obviously didn't happen exactly as we planned. As for the third question: where do we want to go with the PlayStation and Xbox - as stated in the statement made public today in the morning, we are planning to transform the game into a decidedly updated form compared to the current one, of course, and a lot of this will happen in December. . In January and February you will see major improvements, as we have already mentioned. We have also stated that if your expectation is that the game will be equal to, say, next gen or PC in terms of performance, this is definitely not going to happen. That said, I'm not saying it's going to be a bad game, but if you're expecting, say, high-performance visuals or anything else, we're openly stating that it won't. However, it will be a good, playable, stable, problem-free and crash-free game. This is our intention.

Cyberpunk 2077's performance should therefore improve in the coming months, without however reaching those of next-gen PCs and consoles. However, the fact remains that the software house has publicly admitted that it has focused more on the most powerful hardware on the market, leaving out the most obsolete ones. Not only that, but it is also a statement that exonerates Microsoft and Sony of great responsibility on the matter. Finally, the Polish label explained that it would not have been possible to launch the game later on the old gen console, as the releases are linked to a single code, a process through which the free upgrade is guaranteed. We look forward to developments, and especially on the impact this information will have on players.
