Cyberpunk 2077: CD Projekt apologizes, news for DLC and next-gen

Through a post shared on the company's official Twitter profile, CD Projekt RED spoke about the future of cyberpunk 2077, announcing important information on the improvements that will be introduced in the game over the next few months. In the statement, Marcin Iwinki, the co-founder of the company, revealed the Cyberpunk 2077 release window on PlayStation 5 in addition to confirming that in the course of 2021 players will have the opportunity to enrich their gaming experience thanks to some completely free DLC. In addition, a large number of updates are planned to solve some of the problems that the title continues to carry with it since its official launch.

As for the patch dedicated to next generation consoles, fans will be forced to wait a little longer before being able to experience the game by fully exploiting the features of the new platforms. The patch, which initially seemed ready to arrive in early 2021, will only be released towards the last months of the year. While no official release window has ever been announced for the PlayStation 5 version of the game, it appears that the issues Cyberpunk 2077 continues to suffer from on consoles have caused further delays to the official patch release. CD Projekt Red also said they were hard at work bringing the title back to the PlayStation Store, from which it was removed last December, but it looks like this won't happen for a few months yet.

Together with roadmap of the upcoming content within the controversial title, CD Projekt RED has attached a five-minute video through which the developers apologized and discussed the disastrous condition of the title on PlayStation 4 at launch. The lengthy apology video exposes the company's principles and how the launch of Cyberpunk failed to satisfy them. In conclusion, CD Projekt Red admitted that he underestimated the work required to make Cyberpunk 2077 work on the PlayStation 4, stating that the internal tests carried out before the release were not sufficient to consider the real conditions of the title, missing many of the problems that the players had to face at launch.
