Cuphead, the cult game of Studio MDHR has achieved resounding success in recent years not only for its gameplay but also thanks to its very particular graphics, able to reproduce the graphic style retro of the very first cartoons. The title, in addition to receiving a dedicated TV series, has been developed and enriched over the years with a series of DLC able to expand the plot and introduce new characters with which Cuphead and Mugman they can interact.
Speaking of the game's DLCs, there is no good information. As communicated by Studio MDHR, The Delicious Last Course, expected by the end of this year, unfortunately it will not arrive in the set period. The cause, as has often happened in recent months, is the health emergency caused byCOVID-19 epidemic. While The Delicious Last Course is a continuation of Cuphead and Mugman's great adventure, it is also the conclusion to the story that began that fateful day at the Devil's Casino. In true Studio MDHR style, we're not satisfied with this final chapter being anything less than our best work. During development, we made it a point to put everything we learned from the making of Cuphead into the quality of the animation, design and music of The Delicious Last Course.
Achieving this standard has been extremely challenging for us amid the global pandemic that has affected so many of our fellow developers. Rather than compromising on our vision in response to COVID, we've made the difficult decision to postpone the release of The Delicious Last Course until we're sure it will delight the Cuphead community as we think it should. We know many of you have been waiting to return to the Inkwell Isles and our goal is to make the return trip for next year truly magical.
Unfortunately, considering this official information, we can only wait for new communications from the development team.
