Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time - Preview of the demo that precedes the debutWe then got to put our hands on Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time a few weeks after its release. Let's find out in the following lines what we have been able to find, also considering the premises and promises that have been indirectly posed by the game sequences published over the last few months.

The new look of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time

Although it is rather short in its entirety, the demo of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time has set itself a single and simple goal, that of let the players put their hands on the playful sections of the title. We can indeed admire hundreds of gameplay, features and themed jokes, but obviously nothing can replace the feeling of experience the new platform firsthand, who loads a monument of videogame history on his shoulders and tries to bring it back to current generation consoles.

Speaking of the feeling, pad in hand, we can only be satisfied with what we tried, an experience that has given us the same sensations of the past, albeit under a new perspective. The controls are still accurate to the millimeter e they do not allow any margin for error, which leads instead - in most cases - to the inevitable death of the protagonist who is in charge. This time, however, we find a useful indicator placed under the feet of the avatar on duty, perfect for understanding where this will land jump after jump, so as to be able to provide the right input at the last thousandth of a second and save the situation. A rather new sensation comes from the particular double jump implemented, which allows you to suddenly change direction in the air and overcome otherwise insurmountable platforming phases.

For example, Dr. Neo Cortex offers the ability to transmute enemies with his weapon, also ending up using the same as platforming elements. Crash instead delighted in the cable cars presented in the trailers, even more adrenaline-pumping when experienced firsthand, and for the moment anything but disturbing. In the levels we have tried, all extremely varied and fascinating under the graphic level, there was in no case a fair variety, between masks that create unique upgrades and allow you to overcome increasingly inspired and difficult phases, as well as brand new enemies to be discovered.

Blast into the new generation

The moment has now arrived, it is still difficult to believe it, but after 22 years we will see a direct sequel to Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. It seems that Toys for bob has done everything possible to maintain the spirit of the work, however bringing it to the screens of 2020 under a certainly derivative perspective, but completely new and able to rival without problems with today's platformers. There are still many question marks, and it will obviously be necessary to live the title in its entirety to ascertain its qualities and discover its shortcomings in the long term.

For the moment, however, the demo of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time has done nothing but confirm what we saw in the trailers - which by the way, for the most part has already landed in our homes - and created the right hype. that separates us from the new platform adventure starring the well-known Bandicoot and his iconic companions in adventures and enemies. We therefore can't wait to get our hands on the full version of the game, and we will not fail to express our opinions about it with a review on our pages.
