Comparison between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

Almost two years later, since the launch of the new next-gen consoles, it's time to make a comparison between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Please note:, the article will not be in the least for or against something but will simply be an overall analysis of the positive and negative aspects of the consoles; enjoy the reading.

AESTHETICS AND TECHNICAL DATA:

On an aesthetic level, the PlayStation 4 wins thanks to a decidedly leaner and more attractive shape but it is not enough to be beautiful if you are not resistant. Numerous problems have been encountered concerning the fragility of the chassis and of the easy overheating of the console also due to the power supply located internally. • Xbox One

I would dare to define the Xbox One, unlike the PlayStation 4, a console as “rude” as it is effective and above all solid over time. The substantial differences are one greater resistance overall console also thanks to a solid chassis and above all to the choice of using again a powerful and bulky external power supply which, although at first glance it can be somewhat annoying, is decisive in order to never overheat the console especially during long gaming sessions. JOYPAD:

The Joypad of the PlayStation 4 also called DualShock4 has some novelties and comforts, such as the share button, to instantly share videos on the internet. The strong part is the Touchpad placed on the top of the Joypad, allowing developers to implement functions in games that take advantage of this feature at will. To make the Pad more attractive, a ice, adjustable as desired also to safeguard energy consumption. Also noteworthy is the direct coupling of the headphones to the Pad via jack cable and an integrated audio speaker. Unfortunately, all this good things weigh heavily on the economy of the battery, in fact you will rarely be able to deprive yourself of the USB cable to recharge the Pad; another negative note is the easy wear of the rubber pads analog sticks.The Joypad of the Xbox One has not made many changes, it has fixed some refinements, but it remains almost the same as that of the Xbox 360, with always the inverted axesi, which allow excellent playability with FPS. Compared to the Pad of PlayStation 4 here the sticks have been treated much better and above all this Pad has an almost perfect anti-slip grip.

PRICES, SALES DATA AND USER RANGES:

• PlayStation 4

Initially the price of the PlayStation 4 at launch was, also for incomprehensible Microsoft's choices on a commercial level, determined for the purpose of sales. Although the price cut was recently announced in Japan, at the moment in Europe and throughout the rest of the world the console will still cost 400 euros. The sales figures up to a few months ago gave the Sony console a winner; we remember how Sony has now officially won the war in Japan with PlayStation 4. Let's say that this initial exploit was caused, in addition to the excellent price, also by the user range and above all by the large following that has grown for over twenty years thanks to the PlayStation symbol.

• Xbox One

From a linear and above all error-free path like that carried out by Sony, the time has come to delve into the so-called "Path of redemption" of Microsoft.

The launch of Xbox One was a real marketing tragedy; 500 euros for a console still in the Beta phase (to be honest) and above all with a price inflated by the Kinect, perhaps one of the worst exploited videogame objects ever. After having spent months quite troubled finally Microsoft, thanks to finally serious choices such as the total abandonment of the development of the Kinect, the cut in the price of 100 euros (therefore like PlayStation 4) has definitely raised the fate of the Redmond home console. . Thanks to this total change of course by Major Nelson, Xbox One sales, in less than a year, have increased by 51% also considering the failure of sales in the Japanese market. Although games like Fable, Blue Dragon and little else have also been released, the Xbox's trademark has always been churning out TPS and FPS games and therefore perfect for a certain user group; grown and pampered from the beginning thanks to Halo as the progenitor.

ONLINE SERVICES:

Compared to the previous generation, with the release of PlayStation 4 Sony has decided to pay the service PlayStation Plus. The price of an annual subscription is about 50 euros (the recommended one) and in addition to offering the classic services to take advantage of the multiplayer sector of your favorite titles, you will be entitled to exclusive discounts for digital titles and above all to 3/4 free titles. for subscribers to be downloaded via the PSN Store service.

The only negative note is the continuous occurrence of problems related perhaps to poor maintenance of the service, we often notice a constant lag and crash in the PS Plus services.

The Xbox Live service has always stood out for its excellent services since the days of 360. The party management, above all the stability of the system makes this service useful and above all so varied as to satisfy all palates. However, the service provided in Europe can be defined "in half", obviously comparing it to everything that is offered in North America at the same price (for example Netflix)

The answer is very simple, neither. It is not a trivial answer, above all it is not a written answer to ingratiate me with each of the two "factions" but rather a fact; these two consoles are equivalent in many respects.
