Children of Silentown - Preview of the new Elf Games project

If you are passionate about particular drawings, horror stories and indie games, what we are about to talk about is just the thing for you. Children of Silentown is the new title of Elf Games Work, the creators of Little Briar Rose, in collaboration with Luna2 Studio. A game, based on the story of Francesca Presentini (known by all as Fraffrog). In addition to the drafting of the text, she will in fact be the official designer of the title and is working directly with the two developer companies. At the moment there is no release date official, but the prologue is available to everyone (Windows e Mac) and is downloadable via Steam.

The plot and the prologue

Lucy she is a little girl who, like all children, is deeply frightened by the forest that surrounds her village. Only this time it is not an unfounded fear. In fact, in the small town people continue to disappear, and at night the noises coming from the darkness become louder and more terrifying. It will be up to us players to investigate these events, which hide far more secrets than you might imagine. The prologue in question is a sort of introduction to the adventure, where the game controls are explained while we are introduced to the main plot. As for the mechanics, these appear rather basic, after all we are still talking about a 'point and click graphic adventure, so the whole thing will be more about the plot than the actual gameplay. Going forward, however, there will be little ones minigames e puzzle potentially capable of making everything a little more "sparkling".

A note of credit certainly goes to the drawings. Entirely created by hand and individually animated, all the characters are characterized by these huge white eyes which, although they may be inexpressive at first glance, succeed instead to give the right emotional dose and anxiety to the whole game. Born in 2018 as the protagonist of a short film, the character of Lucy will obviously be the most graphically developed and with more animations than the rest of the NPCs. As for all the graphics, we cannot avoid informing interested parties that on the personal youtube channel of Fraffrog will be released weekly some interesting videos through which will be explained all the methods of realization of Children of Silentown.

Music will also play a very important role throughout the game. Besides having a lot of melodies and ambient noises engaging and well made, during the various in-game sections it will be necessary to collect "sounds" (such as the sound of a bell or the lyre of Lucy's mother) which will be used later. It will in fact be possible to create melodies using the collected notes, which will be used by Lucy to solve some problems that will hinder her path. In conclusion, we can therefore say that Children of Silentown has been able to present itself to our eyes as a project very interesting and, based on what we could see from the prologue, too promising. As previously mentioned, we don't have much news about the development and a release date at the moment, but we hope to receive new information as soon as possible.
