Il 29 March CD Projekt RED signed the terms for the acquisition of the Canadian firm Digital Scapes, with whom he has been collaborating since 2018. The company's goal is to expand outside of Poland, increasing its work pool and facing the competitiveness of the market in an ever better way.
One of the fruits of the collaboration between Digital Scapes and CD Projekt is cyberpunk 2077, in which the Canadian team dealt with various aspects of the programming and optimization of the video game. Digital Scapes CEO and CD Projekt President claimed to be enthusiastic about this acquisition, which will allow the two companies to bring the quality of their work to the maximum, focusing on a solid and lasting collaboration to look at the future in the best possible way.
We are very excited to join a studio that has created incredibly immersive experiences such as The Witcher trilogy and Cyberpunk 2077. We believe our contribution in this area of gameplay and technology will make them even more captivating.
The members of the Digital Scapes team will therefore enrich the three Polish development teams present in Warsaw, Krakow and Wroclaw in the new project CD Projekt RED Vancouver. At the moment, no plans have been announced in the development phase of the company, which has plans to support Cyberpunk 2077 with updates and additional content.
Analyst Daniel Ahmad shared a chart showing CD Projekt's strategy which, starting in 2022, will be working on triple A games and expansions in parallel. Furthermore, they are planned in the future marketing campaigns shorter and more effective, with promotional content released on dates closer to the main game than current releases.
