Cannes 2019: Tarantino confirmed in competition with Once upon a time in… Hollywood

Il Cannes Festival 2019 has recently made official the latest titles that will participate in the competition, as well as the names of the various films that will end up in Special Screenings, Midnight and Un Certain Regard. The biggest confirmation, at the moment, is that relating to the inclusion of the last signed feature film Quentin Tarantino, that with Once upon a time in ... Hollywood will return to Cannes after 25 years from the last Palme d'Or won with Pulp Fiction in 1994.

The film, in fact, had already been foreseen in the original line-up, inaugurated last April 18; however, on that occasion, the artistic director Thierry Fremaux had announced that the film was not yet ready, as it was in post-production. In a subsequent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, however, Fremaux himself later communicated that there could be a good chance that the film was concluded in time for its world premiere, to date therefore officially confirmed for the 2019 edition of the festival.

However, the latest work by Abdellatif Kechiche was also confirmed in competition, Mektoub, My Love: Intermezzo, pleasant surprise that will not fail to capture the spotlight of the festival. We also point out that an Italian film is making its appearance for the Un Certain Regard section, namely the film by Lorenzo Mattotti, The famous invasion of bears in Sicily.

Below, we leave the complete list of all the latest late additions to the photo finish of the Cannes Film Festival 2019.
