Borderlands: Kevin Hart will play the role of Roland in the live-action film

There haven't been many announcements for the live-action film over the past few months Borderlands, based on the action RPG video game series of the same name created by Gearbox Software. The filming of the title will begin shortly in Budapest and, although at the moment the details on the plot have not yet been revealed, the latest statements see the official entry of Kevin Hart in the role of Roland within the cast of the film, in which he is already present Kate Blanchett in the role of Lilith. The news was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter which through a series of statements has consolidated the previous rumors about the presence of Hart in the title. Although his involvement was virtually confirmed, his role has remained a mystery to this day.

For those who may not be familiar with the Borderlands franchise, Roland is a highly skilled soldier from Promethea. Former soldier of the Crimson Lance, Roland is certainly a character not to be underestimated, especially for his affinity with some particular toys, such as his faithful assault and pump action rifles. At the moment, in addition to the presence of Hart in the role of Roland and Kate Blanchett in that of Lilith, the other casting choices are still a mystery, but could be made official and presented to the public over the next few weeks. Director Eli Roth, formerly known for titles such as Hostel, The Green Inferno e Knock Knock, said he felt confident about the future of the film and the cast.

I am really excited to be working with Kevin Hart. Within Borderlands he will have the ability to play a different kind of role than he is used to playing, and we're thrilled to wow audiences with a side of Kevin they've never seen before. We are sure it will be a fantastic Roland.
