Bioshock 4 will offer a sandbox world and advanced AI

As announced in recent weeks, Bioshock 4 is currently under development at Cloud Chamber, which sees many veterans of the series working on this new game. But unfortunately, Ken levine, the creator of the series who recently formed his own studio, Ghost Story Games, he will most likely not be involved in this project. However, it looks like this new chapter in the saga will be incredibly ambitious, featuring a sandbox world and a decidedly advanced game world artificial intelligence. This, at least, in the promises of the developers.

Bioshock 4 will keep the first person view and will most likely run in Unreal Engine. Thanks to the analysis of new job applications we were able to find out some more details about the title. Let's take a look at some of the key points they have listed in their open positions, including AI, Game Design, Cinematic, and Rendering:

    • Development of an "AI systems in a strong narrative and systemic game"
    • Great ambitions to link AI and storytelling to "different artificial intelligence systems"
    • Implementations for an urban crowd system and the systemic tribal ecology of a sometimes hostile AI
    • Push the “state of the art” in artificial intelligence and experiment with unproven ideas
    • Amazing mechanics and game systems, with a standard player feel and responsiveness with AAA presentation
    • An "emerging sandbox world"
    • Systems of the interactive world and non-AI systemic ecology
    • Player growth and progression systems
    • Balance of play and economy
    • Masterfully create the first-person narrative moments that exist along a continuum of "fully interactive scenes"
    • Experience time-activating events and interactive branching cinematic sequences

All this information seems to outline the connotations of a more open level design than in the past, if not open world. Bioshock 1 e Bioshock 2, we recall, they were structured as hubs, while Bioshock Infinite instead it was more linear and in some ways even more scripted. So we just have to wait and hope that these incredible expectations are maintained in Bioshock 4.
