Bethesda: There will be no digital conference for E3 2020

Bethesda: There will be no digital conference for E3 2020

As we unfortunately well know, due to the COVID-19, many people are forced into quarantine, forced to close their shops and not be able to leave their homes. This virus has also impacted the gaming world, which has seen many of its trade shows postponed or canceled, such as E3 2020. Although many of the participants decided to simply change the formula, "imitating" Nintendo Direct, the same cannot be said of the parent software house of Skyrim: Bethesda.

Through the social media Twitter, Pete Hines he said that the company will not participate in E3 in any way, not even digitally. This would be the first time after five years that the company has skipped a showcase, after having presented itself on the big stage back in 2015.

Hines, however, wanted to specify that Bethesda is not idle and that it is working on projects that will be shared with fans in the coming months. It's hard not to think about The Elder Scrolls VI e Starfield, announced during E3 2018, but not much was known about it after the Los Angeles event.

Given the many challenges we're facing due to the pandemic, we will not host a digital Showcase in June. We have lots of exciting things to share about our games and look forward to telling you more in the coming months.

Excluding the two titles just mentioned, it could be information concerning Deathloop of Arkane Studios or the new horror title of Tango Gameworks, called Ghostwire: Tokyo. We will only find out when official releases arrive, whether in the press or social media from Bethesda.

The fact is that the latest title launched by the software house was one of the best launches of 2020, even if we are still at the beginning: obviously we are talking about DOOM Eternal, of which you can read our review here. The shooter has managed with its gameplay, graphics and music to attract so many fans to be able to set a record for the franchise. Sales were certainly also influenced by the undoubted quality of the DOOM reboot, released four years ago, in 2016. We will see how Bethesda now manages the success of the title.
