Bethesda officially joins Microsoft's Xbox division

Through a press release drawn up by Phil Spencer, at the head of the division Xbox di Microsoft products, and published in the pages of the portal dedicated to its game universe, the Colossus of Redmond has recently given the official welcome to Bethesda, completing the acquisition of ZeniMax Media (which is the parent company).

This is an exciting day for Xbox. Today we officially complete the acquisition of ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks. It is an honor to welcome eight incredibly talented development studios - Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog and Roundhouse Studios - and their passionate global communities in the Xbox family. Now that everything is official, we can start working together to bring more great games to everyone. With every step towards this moment, I have been inspired and motivated by Bethesda's creativity, intuition and community-based approach of talented people. Our goal is to provide these teams with the best foundation to do their best work and learn from them as we continue to transform Xbox into an inclusive platform for all players.

This is the next step in building an industry-leading first-party study team - a commitment we have to our Xbox community. With the addition of Bethesda's creative teams, gamers should know that Xbox, PC, and Game Pass consoles will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that will be exclusive to Xbox and PC gamers. As we have previously shared, it is vital that Bethesda continues to create games as it always has. We look forward to enabling Bethesda's creative teams to reach even more players around the world, helping to make future Bethesda titles the biggest and most popular games in their history. Xbox and Bethesda have long shared a common vision for the future of gaming. As a fan and creator, Bethesda understands the potential of Xbox Game Pass.

We would also like to honor the life and memory of my dear friend Robert A. Altman, founder of ZeniMax Media. Robert deeply believed in the power of the game and we are privileged to be able to continue his work by joining forces with the teams he has built and led for many years. I will miss the opportunity to work directly with him on the future of our combined teams, but I know his spirit will live on in the shared work we do and will motivate us to make this partnership everything he imagined.

Thanks to all of our players for joining us on this incredible journey and to the millions of Bethesda fans around the world. Now that we are a team, we can start working together on the future that awaits us. We will have more to share about the prospects for our teams by the end of the year. In the meantime, to properly celebrate this special moment, we'll be introducing more Bethesda games to Xbox Game Pass this week. Stay tuned for more details!

For a few hours we have offered new details regarding the agreement between Microsoft and Bethesda, which according to the words of Microsoft's CFO, Tom Warren, will serve to push the Game Pass subscription service. Finally, a few days ago the United States commission had accepted the acquisition of Zenimax from Microsoft.
