Bandai Namco's DG declares that in 2020 there will be no fighting games

With the present year now drawing to a close, it is time to create new budgets and new ideas for the future of every company, videogame or not, capable of bringing more and more profit and fans to their side. Who has the ideas already clear enough (but definitely questionable) from some point of view is Bandai Namco that, thanks to its general manager Katsuhiro Harada, in a recent interview with 4Gamer stated how in 2020 the company will focus on the creation of new titles, new IPs, but above all no fighting games.

The statements immediately moved fans of the genre, so much so as to underline to the general manager that in reality this statement is not entirely true. In fact, in the course of 2020 it will be released One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows e My Hero One's Justice 2, titles belonging to the fighting game genre but which, trying to interpret Harada's words, may not have been taken into consideration as they are licensed games and not new intellectual properties.

However, it remains a really strange statement from the company that over the years has accustomed us to numerous fighting games such as Tekken e Soul Calibur which, thanks also to the disclosure of eSports, are receiving a second youth. Finally, the DG of Bandai Namco said that new titles will be released during the year not yet announced by the company. We hope to be amazed by these new announcements and that they know how to make us forget the forgetfulness of a genre loved by millions and millions of fans.
