BAFTA 2020: Let's see all the winners

BAFTA 2020: Let's see all the winners

The first BAFTA of the Brexit era were awarded on Sunday 2 February. The “British Oscars” for cinematic excellence arrived at the 73rd edition awarded 1917 by Sam Mendes with seven awards including Best Picture and Best British Film.

Beyond the vaguely vitriolic speech by Joaquin Phoenix (best actor for Joker) there were no surprises in the actor categories: Renée Zellwager best actress for Judy, Bradi Pitt and Laura Dern best supporting actors respectively for Once upon a time in Hollywood and Story of a Marriage.

Surprising awards in the categories of writing for cinema: best adaptation to Taika Waititi for Jojo Rabbit and Best Original Screenplay in Korean P, already winner of the best film not in English.

Big disappointments for Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino, the first with The Irishman who, in the face of 10 nominations, did not receive any awards, while the second with Once upon a time in Hollywood which only saw the aforementioned award to Brad Pitt as a supporting character.
