    It's been several years now since ASUS debuted on the world market the ROG Phone, or the first smartphone conceived from the outset to offer agaming experience uncompromising and at the highest levels. After having achieved great success with the various models that have followed one another over the years, the Taiwanese manufacturer has decided to give continuity to its gaming-phone line, preparing to launch the new one shortly. Not many details were known about this smartphone until the last few hours but thanks to the site Geekbench we can get an idea of ​​what could be the main hardware features of the expected new product.



    Starting from the processor, the new ASUS gaming phone should be equipped with the CPU Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 which, at present, represents the non plus ultra on the panorama Android. In support we should also find 16 GB of RAM memory, a truly huge quantity that also competes with many gaming PCs and that on Android would place - at least on paper - the ROG Phone 5 at the top in terms of performance. This top-level hardware equipment will exploit, as already mentioned, the Google mobile operating system which, presumably, will be made available in its latest version.

    Although no official presentation date for the smartphone has yet been announced, many rumors emerged in recent weeks on the net suggest that ASUS is now about to announce its top of the range to the world. The presence of the device on Geekbench has always been an important clue regarding the progress of a project and the appearance of the ROG Phone 5 can therefore only be considered as the antechamber of the official announcement. At this point, we just have to wait for more information in the coming weeks, during which ASUS could finally remove the veils on its new top of the range.
