Assassin's Creed Valhalla will have revamped RPG mechanics

During a recent interview with Game Informer, the creative director of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Ashraf Ismail, spoke quite thoroughly on the new RPG elements present in the next chapter of the saga of the Assassins. Specifically, colleagues from the well-known US video game magazine asked the creative director how the RPG mechanics will be structured, and if in Valhalla they will undergo any changes compared to the previous Origins and Odyssey. We report in detail the answer of Ashraf Ismail:

In terms of RPG and player progression, we wanted a new approach, something more grounded in the game world. So, the way it all works has been completely revamped. Each tool you find is unique. You can upgrade any equipment. If you wish to carry the same equipment to the end of the game, you can do so. Or if you want to collect it all, it's up to you. Everything has its own unique value. At some point, you can start customizing tools.

In terms of skills and abilities, there has also been a renewal. Players will have this (fairly large) skill tree, which they can improve through Eivor's journey, gathering new skills, many "stylistic" elements to perfect the kind of Viking you want to be - whether it's a more stealthy Viking or the like "go out and throw your axes." Everything from skills to weapon specs, we have a new vision of progression that we feel anchored in the Viking world and fantasy we are trying to achieve.

Please note that Assassin's Creed Valhalla will debut by end of 2020 su Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC (Epic Games Store and Uplay exclusive) is Google Stadia.
