Asgard has announced the first DDR5 RAM memory for the consumer market

The RAM memory is undoubtedly one of the essential components for any hardware configuration and being able to have an abundant quantity and performance is, without a doubt, a "must have" for every PC gamer. Although DDR4 memory is the highest standard nowadays, there has been talk of DDR5, despite their availability on the market is still a long way off. The Chinese manufacturer Asgard however, he decided he wanted to beat everyone on time and in the past few hours announced the first DDR5 RAM memories that will be destined for the consumer market.

Named Asgard VMA5AUK-MMH224W3, the new memory banks of the oriental manufacturer will be made available on the market in formats from 32, 64 e 128 GB. The modules are able to work on one frequency equal to 4,800MHz which, despite being high considering current standards, is still far from 8,400MHz peak that distinguish the new technology. Based on what is currently known, the modules will operate with a Nominal tension DRAM of 1,1V and will adhere to the JEDEC “B” standard, which suggests that they will have gods timing of 40-40-40.

Despite being designed for consumer users, the DDR5 modules are not yet available as there is still no processor on the market capable of supporting them. We will have to wait for the arrival of the future Intel and AMD CPUs in order to use these memories. According to an Asgard representative, the processors that will support DDR5 RAM are for Intel families Sapphire Rapids, Tiger Lake-U e Alder-Lake, while for AMD the Rembrandt APU e Van Gogh. At the moment the Chinese company has communicated that the production of the memories has not yet started due to the unavailability of the processors on the market, so at this point we just have to wait for the next few months to find out the arrival date of these modules and the proposals of other companies in the sector.
