Apex Legends will also arrive on Nintendo Switch, that's when

Apex Legends, the famous online shooter from Respawn Entertainment, is also coming on Nintendo Switch. In the past few hours, in fact, the Game Director of Respawn, Chad Grenier, had stated that a video reveal of the battle royale would soon be released for the hybrid console of Nintendo, which would follow thearrival of the Season 8 Battle Pass. However, it looks like the title will suffer a little delay, coming to Nintendo Switch the next 9 March. These are the new statements by Game Director Grenier:

Bringing Apex Legends to the small screen is a huge achievement for us, and we couldn't have done it without our Panic Button partners. We are very proud of what the team has been able to achieve with some clever optimizations for porting to Switch to deliver a full Apex Legends experience on the go. Additionally, as we're launching the game a few weeks into Season 8, Switch players will be granted 30 free levels for their new season Battle Pass. In addition, for the first two weeks of play, playing on the Switch will also earn double experience points.

Since it officially launched in early 2019, Apex Legends has established a new one record for the number of active players in a battle royale during its first month of activity, surpassing 50 million players. Although the community's growth hasn't kept a steady pace, the support Respawn has given to the game after launch with ever-new additional content has allowed Apex Legends to still have a huge number of active users. Given the great success, Electronic Arts has decided to make the game available on other platforms, and from March, therefore, we will be able to challenge our friends in portability on our Nintendo Switches. Since its acquisition by Electronic Arts, Respawn Entertainment has been split into multiple teams, which are currently working on various projects. While the core team developed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and is currently working on another triple A title that may have always been linked to the franchise Star Wars, a smaller team is continuing to support Apex Legends, allowing this online shooter to finally land on the big N.

The Nintendo Switch version of Apex Legends will support all existing content and features on the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC versions of the game. Finally, the title will also include cross-play support, then Nintendo Switch owners will be placed in the overall Apex Legends player pool rather than playing separately.
