An oversight by the E3 2019 staff brought the data of over 2000 journalists online

Apparently, a serious oversight of the organization of E3 2019 led to the leak of countless information from journalists and influencers who were present at the event. Going into more detail, youtubere Sophia Narwitz published a video in which it was explained that on the event website there was a spreadsheet containing all the private data of over 2.000 prominent personalities, including addresses, telephone numbers and much more.

Apparently, the Excel sheet was created to allow the software houses to get in touch with the correspondents who were present at the Los Angeles fair, but clearly it was a confidential document as it contained sensitive data. ESA promptly stated:

“After receiving notification of the incident, we immediately took the necessary steps to protect the data and remove the document, which is now no longer available. We are sorry for what has happened and we have put in place all measures to ensure that events of this type do not occur again ”.
