Amber Heard faces jail for falsifying evidence against Johnny Depp

The long legal diatribe between the Aquaman star, Amber Heard, Johnny Depp, goes on with continuous twists. The actress was accused of falsifying evidence of the alleged physical abuse she allegedly suffered at the hands of Depp over the course of their troubled 18 months of marriage, and now faces a sentence that includes up to three years of imprisonment. The actor allegedly decided to sue her for defamation after seeing the latest statements from his ex-wife, who had publicly described him as a man guilty of physical and psychological abuse in an editorial in the The Washington Post.

The two actors met on the set of The Rum Diary in 2011, before getting married in February 2015. The petition for divorce and the request for a restraining order were filed in May 2016, only 18 months after the wedding, after the declarations of Amber Heard who saw her as a victim of physical and psychological violence against her husband. In December 2018, the actress wrote an editorial on the The Washington Post where he reiterated again the violence he would suffer from Johnny Depp, which prompted the plaintiff to sue her for 50 million dollars.

Although at the beginning public opinion was almost entirely on the side of Amber Heard, now there are a lot of evidence and testimonies against her. Some audio in which she admits to hitting her ex-husband and punching him, as well as making fun of him by admitting that he wants to show himself as the victim of abuse. Also the fact that Johnny Deep had caused bruises on her face when she appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corde in 2015 was denied by the stylist and friend of the actress, who said he met her the same day and did not see any bruises, cuts or wound on the face or any other part of the body.
