    Today undoubtedly represents an epochal date for all cinema fans, since today the shareholders of 20th Century Fox accepted, following the voting, the offer of a whopping 71.3 billion by Disney for the acquisition of the historic Californian company. However, rumors of a possible merger of the two companies had already been in the air since December, the month in which the Mickey Mouse house had struck a deal for $ 52,4, with a relaunch of the offer at a later time by Comcast, one of the largest cable operators in the United States.

Despite the considerable sum, it would seem that iAt the time of voting, only one of the Disney shareholders opposed this transaction, declaring that the amount invested in spending would be excessively high. In the words of Gerson Zweifach, general counsel of 20th Century Fox, the merger will be completed in the first half of 2019. With this operation, therefore, Disney will take possession of intellectual properties such as Avatar, the Simpsons and X-Men, as well as some cable channels such as National Geographic. Not falling under the terms of the agreement, however, will be Fox News and Fox Broadcasting Company, which will be reunited under a new company led by Murdoch.
